Bentley and Narula Attend 10th Annual BioHealth Capital Region Forum
Last Wednesday, September 18, Fischell Institute Director Bill Bentley and Communications Specialist Ambi Narula attended the 10th Annual BioHealth Capital Region Forum at the US Pharmacopeia (USP) in Rockville, Maryland.
At the event, Bentley moderated the “Biomedical Engineering: Meet the Region’s Bio Engineering Academic Leaders” panel, which included Fischell Fellow and Bioengineering Associate Professor Steven Jay, Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) Executive Director and CEO John Falconi, Johns Hopkins University Biomedical Engineering and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Associate Professor Jaime Spangler, George Washington University Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Professor andAssociate Dean for Research Lijie Grace Zhang.
During the panel, Bentley asked questions about the panelists’ biomedical engineering programs and how they help students reach their career goals.
Bentley also discussed the Fischell Institute’s mission, UMD I-Corps, M-CERSI, and the America Got Regulatory Science Talent competition, as well as its most recent winner, PocketPeds, and the group’s collaboration with UMD’s App Development Club.
Also during the event, Narula met with biotech industry leaders such as Maryland Department of Commerce Life Science Director Stefanie Trop, Root3Labs President and Founder Chad Schnieder, and Brayearst Validation Consulting’s Consultant Stephanie Brandford.
