Fischell Institute Staff Spotlight: Alyssa Tomlinson

The Fischell Institute of Biomedical Devices sends a heartfelt thank you to our Assistant Director of Communications, Alyssa Tomlinson. We are excited for her to embark on a new adventure as the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Media Relations Manager.

The Fischell Institute would not be here today if it weren’t for Alyssa’s efforts. Over the last nine years, Alyssa has produced stellar work for multiple departments within the University of Maryland Clark School of Engineering including Bioengineering and the Fischell Institute.

Within the Institute, her notable accomplishments include: running and creating the Institute’s launch, writing ceremonial scripts, creating the logo design, the website, and social media channels, and initiating the weekly newsletter. Alyssa showcased the team’s work through multiple TV interviews including this one with WBAL11. She is the reason that the Fischell Institute’s COVID response was the front page at the Baltimore Sun.

Alyssa is a valued member of the Fischell team and her hard work has allowed the hard work of the Fischell Institute to be visible. Her kindness, patience, and warmth have always been appreciated and have never gone unnoticed. We are grateful to have Alyssa as part of the team since the Fischell Institute’s launch and are thrilled to see her continued success in communications.
