Institute-affiliated researchers awarded best paper by Advances in Redox Research
A team of researchers out of Fischell Institute Fellow Gregory Payne’s lab was awarded Best Paper of the Year by the Advances in Redox Research journal.
The paper, titled “Spectroelectrochemical testing of a proposed mechanism for a redox-based therapeutic intervention: Ascorbate treatment of severe paraquat poisoning,” was co-written by Eunkyoung Kim, assistant research scientist at the Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research, Zhiling Zhao, former postdoctoral associate at the University of Maryland, College Park, Fischell Institute Director William Bentley, and Payne. It discusses using an electrochemical approach for treating paraquat poisoning.
Kim will present the paper at the Society for Redox Biology and Medicine's 31st annual conference, held in Savannah, Georgia, from November 20-23, 2024.
